Fair Oaks Racket Club Minutes,  September 28, 2009

Attendance: Larry Leach, Steve Allen, Janusz Seremak, Foster Pelton, Toni Anderson, Mike Pruss,

and Jim Wright

 

Meeting called to order by President Larry Leach at 7:00pm.

Foster made motion to accept minutes as published and Steve seconded.

Treasurers report -- Foster reported a Balance of $2,705.15

All league fees are paid up.

Motion to accept as presented by Steve Allen. Toni seconded.

 

Vice Presidents report. New calendar to be made for October. We are having some issues

With vandals abusing nets and courts. A note in the newsletter to advise people to be

aware of court abuse and to report it to the park district was requested. 

 

Men’s Coordinator -- Steve Allen reported that all leagues are going fine.

Mixed Coordinator. -- Janusz reported all leagues are going well.

Women’s Coordinator -- No Sally.

Membership -- Toni indicated we have 5 new members.

A general discussion as to pro rating membership dues for those members who join in the last

3 months of the year was discussed. Consensus was to leave it as it stands. 

We will send prospectus members newsletters.

The question of Family membership and what is a family and who is a family member was discussed. No action taken.

Web Page -- No news

 

Larry indicated that SATA discussed raising team fees. Sata has a board meeting in November to elect new board members.

Old Business -- Larry met with Bella Vista HS regarding using courts. No movement toward FORC using courts.

There was a question regarding FORC coming back to FOPD if we left and we can come back..FOPD is happy with us.

Mike will in the future email our court maintenance requests to Rick Vaughn and his supervisor if we have issues.

 

New Business -- Idea of handing out laminated cards with #’s for Park District and Police to coaches was discussed.

The idea was if we had issues with undesirables we would have numbers to call for assistance.

Also discussed were signs placed on the gates indicating NO bicycles, NO skateboards, NO soccer. Tennis only. Mike will check it out.

Motion was made by Mike to reimburse Sally for $125 for hats that were worn by the volunteers for FOPD Chicken day. Toni seconded.

Toni made a motion to buy straps for the nets to have on hand for repairs. $40 Steve seconded.

Steve made a motion to spend up to $125 for court number signs. Janusz seconded

A note to be placed in the newsletter requesting members input and feedback for the Tennis Ball or a party similar to what we have had in the past

October on Monday the 26th
