Larry called the meeting to order at 7:08 p.m.

Secretary’s Report:  Marty made a motion that the minutes be accepted from last month.  Mike seconded it, and the motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report:  Foster distributed the Treasurer’s Report.   Larry made a motion that we accept the report and Carlene made a second.  Motion carried.  Bank balance as of 9-24-2008 is $2,798.20.

Vice President’s Report:  Nets have not been replaced on Court 3.  Mike will order new nets and ask the Park District to install the nets that they have on Court 3.    Larry reported that someone has been opening the breaker boxes and tripping the breakers.   We will ask the Park District to install locks.

Women’s League Representative:  Marty reported that there was no change in the ladder and she reported that the SATA Summer 3.5 Traditional Tuesday evening Doubles team was the all-over winners.  Way to go, ladies.

Men’s League Representative:  Steve said that the Men’s 50+ team is playing and enjoying the new team.

Social Report:  Larry reported in Joni’s absence that the meeting for the Love All Tennis Ball was postponed until October.  The September and October socials were canceled because we could not find substitute hosts after the initial hosts canceled.  Carmen and Steve Allen will host the November social.  The December Women’s social will be hosted by Kathy Mumm.

SATA/USTA Representative:  In Gail’s absence, Larry reported that the new SATA rules to be voted in next month are on the SATA website, www.sactennis.org.  The rules will be presented by an attorney.  Ten directors will be voted in November.  This election will bring SATA into compliance with California law.

Nominating Committee:  We need a Chairperson for the 2009 Nominating Committee.  Please contact Larry if you would like to volunteer.

Newsletter Editor:  This position is vacant.  If you enjoy putting newsletters together and being at the heart of FORC, please call Larry or Joni to volunteer.

New business:  Larry reported that the rental costs of the courts are going up $10 per month in 2009, $10 a month in 2010, and $10 a month in 2011.  The club currently pays $100 per month.  New business:  Larry reported that there is interest in constructing 6 or 7 courts with lights at Bella Vista High School which will be a joint project of San Juan School District, Fair Oaks Park District, and FORC.  He reported that the Doggie Walk made over $2200 which will be spent for the new tennis courts.  Other new business:  The FORC board changed the meeting dates from the last Wednesday in the month to the last Monday in the month
