Larry opened the meeting at 7 p.m., and read a letter that the Club received from the Fair Oaks Park District thanking the club for helping with the Chicken Festival

Carlene presented the September 28, 2009 minutes. Toni made a motion to accept, Mike seconded it, and the motion carried.

Foster presented the Treasurer’s report.  Balance as of 10-26-09 is $2735.75.  All SATA fall team fees are in.  We received the club membership invoice from SATA.  Mike made a motion to accept the report, Steve seconded it, and the motion carried.

Vice President’s Report:  Net straps are in along with one cable.  We will keep the straps and give the cable to the Park District.  The Park District had number signs on the inside of the courts, and they were taken down when the new court numbers were placed on the outside of the courts.  One light out on Court 5.  Lights will be turned on automatically at 5 p.m.

Women’s Coordinator Report:  Sally and Marty were in Woodland playing a match..

Men’s Coordinator Report:  Thursday A team in fourth place; B team in 7th place.  50+Saturday team in 7th place.  Sunday 3.5 team in fourth place.

Mixed Coordinator Report:  The 7.5 team is in first place!! You go guys.

Social Chair’s Report:  The ghouls and goblins were out Saturday, Oct. 24.  We had 24-26 people and five courts.  Ed DeMongey and Linda Van Cleave did a great job. No new members in October.  Toni will contact Chris Cartano regarding the November social.  Larry reported that there was no response to his e-mail regarding the Tennis Ball.

Ballot and Membership Renewal Form for Newsletter:  Carlene will send last year’s ballot and renewal form to Toni.  Fees will remain the same in 2010 as in 2009.  If a member joined in the Fall and does not play on a league, then they would not have to pay a membership fee for the following year.  If they play just one match as a sub in the Fall, then they would have to pay again on January 1.

SATA:  There will be a meeting on 11-4-09 at Raley’s at Hazel and Madison.  Three board members will be elected.  Larry will represent the Club.  SATA will have a Round Table Meeting of the Coordinators on 11-10-09.  Check SATA website at www.sactennis.org for more information.  SATA wants captains to pay the team fee on the Top Dog website.  There will be a small fee increase for this service.

Jim talked about splitting the Men’s Thursday night teams into a 4.0 and a 3.5 team in order to give higher rated players a chance to play in the 4.0 league.   He was invited to the SATA meeting.  SATA may assign the A team to the 4.0 level on their own.

Jim said that there is over 50 acres at Sunset and Main that Teichert is currently using which could be made into softball and soccer fields and tennis courts.
