Larry called the
meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. |

Secretary’s
Report: Carlene distributed the
Secretary’s report of 9-24-08. Joni made a
motion that we accept the report. Mike
seconded it and the motion carried. |

Larry distributed
the Treasurer’s Report in Foster’s absence.
The bank balance as of 10-27-08 is $3178.20. Mike made a motion that we accept the
Report. Marty seconded it and the
motion carried. |

4. |
Vice President’s
Report: Mike said that new nets have
been installed on Courts 5 & 6 and the old nets moved to Courts 3 &
4. The lights have not come on at dusk
for the matches, and Mike and Larry will meet with the Park District on
Monday, Nov. 3. The Club might be able
to set the lights itself. |

Men’s League
Representative: Steve reported that a
60+ men’s team (4 person team) will be offered in the Spring on Tuesdays at 1
p.m. The format will be two sets of
doubles. |

Women League
Representative: Marty said that the
Saturday 3.5 team is doing very well, and that the USTA Women’s Senior team
lost only one match. |

Mixed League
Representative: Larry said that a
Sunday morning team will be offered in the Spring. |

8. |
Social Chair: Joni said that 20 people enjoyed the October
Social. Big thanks go out to Joni and Bonnie for volunteering to chair the
October Social. The Love All Tennis Ball is coming right along. Prices are $25 for members and $35 for
non-members. Mike made a motion to
subsidize the Ball up to $500. Joni
seconded it and the motion passed. We
anticipate that the Ball will break even, and the Club will not have to
subsidize the Ball. |

SATA/USTA
Representative: Gail reported that SATA
Club Representative will elect 9 Board Members at the January Board
Meeting. Those 9 Board Members will
elect the President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. If you would like to run for the SATA
Board, contact Larry Leach or Gail Lenhart. |

Nominating
Committee: Larry asked Carlene to
solicit nominees for Club positions.
Larry, Steve, Mike, Gail, Foster, and Carlene said that they will be
nominees. Mike will be Newsletter
Editor nominee. If you would like to
volunteer, please call Carlene at 605-6066.
