FORC Board Minutes, November 24, 2008

1.	Larry called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm.	Info
2.	Secretary’s Report: Carlene distributed the minutes of October 27, 2008. Mike made a motion that we accept the minutes, Marty seconded it, and the motion carried. Larry asked Carlene to send the minutes to Barbara for posting on the website.	Passed
3.	Treasurer’s Report: Foster distributed the Treasurer’s Report as of November 24, 2008. Balance is $3,039.70. Mike made a motion that we accept the report, Carlene seconded it, and the motion carried. Foster also distributed a preliminary budget for 2009.	Passed
4.	V.P.’s Report: Mike reported that the new nets are installed and the lights are working properly. Larry signed the contract for 2009 with the Fair Oaks Park District. Larry and Mike will have a meeting soon with the Park District.	Info
5.	Women’s League Representative: Marty reported that we had two good challenges lately. The Fair Oaks Fall SATA Saturday Women’s team took the championship. The USTA Women’s Senior team is in third or fourth place. Their goal is to be in the top four spots so that they can be in the playoffs.	Info
6.	Men’s League Representative: Steve reported that the Fair Oaks Men’s Thursday Evening SATA teams took third and fourth place. In the Spring, there will be a Men’s 60+ league on Tuesdays at 1 p.m. Call Steve for more information.	Info
7.	Mixed Doubles Representative: Larry reported that the 7.5 team had 8 wins and 2 losses and came in third place. The 6.5 team had 4 wins and 4 losses.	Info
8.	Social Chair: Joni reported that the Ladies Luncheon is Dec. 12^th at 11:30 a.m. at Kathy Mumm’s. The Ballot, Tennis Ball flyer, and Renewal Application will be sent by US mail to all members.	Info
9.	New business: Clairen Peeters suggested that we obtain new wind screens. Larry adjourned the meeting at 8:45 p.m.	Info

Next meeting is Monday, December 22, 2008 at 6:30 pm at the River Oaks Townhomes Clubhouse

at 9334 River Oaks Lane, Orangevale. This will be the annual Board Holiday party.
