FORC Board Meeting Minutes, May 28, 2008

 

Attendance:  Larry Leach, Joni Leach, Carlene Duran-Costa, Mike Pruss, Foster Pelton,

Larry called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.

Joni made a motion to accept the Secretary’s report of 4-30-08.  Mike seconded it, and the motion carried.

Mike made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report of 5-28-08.  Gail seconded it, and the motion carried.

VP Report:  Mike reported that once a month he will walk the courts with Rick Vaughn, Supervisor for the Fair Oaks Park and Rec. Dept. to determine what needs to be fixed or replaced.  He reported that two new nets and one new strap has been installed.  We will dispose of the metal chairs and replace them with plastic stackable chairs.  Steve made a motion that we purchase two nets and two straps to be installed on Courts 5, 6, 7, and 8 as needed.  Mike seconded the motion and it carried.

Women’s Coordinators Report:  Marty reported that there are 27 women on the ladder, eight challenges have been completed, and two are on the books.  She updated the ladder with the current Top Dog ratings.  She reported that there are three women’s teams on the Summer SATA League.

Men’s Coordinators Report:  Steve reported that there are three men’s teams in the Summer SATA League—two on Thursday evenings and one 50+ on Saturday mornings.

Mixed Doubles Coordinator’s Report:  Larry reported that there are three Mixed Doubles Teams in the SATA Summer League which will play at 6 p.m. on Sunday evenings.  Note the time change.

New Member’s Report:  Joni reported that the club has two new members:  Connie and Dale.  Welcome!

SATA/USTA Report:  Larry reported that there is no club master sub list any longer in SATA.  Subs will be pulled from Top Dog.  He also reported that everyone will have one doubles rating on Top Dog, which will average all league ratings.  SATA will have a 60th anniversary party at The Capitals.  Visit www.sactennis.org for more details and see the newly designed website.  Next SATA meeting will be July 9th at San Juan.

Social Report:  The Social Committee is moving ahead with the Love All♥Tennis Ball.  Save the date—should be very delightful.
