FORC Board Meeting Minutes, August 27, 2008

1.	Larry called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m.	Info
2.	Secretary’s Report: Carlene distributed Secretary’s report of 7-30-08. Mike made a motion that we accept the report and Marty seconded it. Motion carried.	Passed
3.	Treasurer’s Report: Foster distributed the Treasurer’s Report. Joni made a motion that we accept the report and Mike seconded it. Motion carried.	Passed
4.	Vice President’s Report: Mike said that we will use the Miller Park courts every day for September, October, and parts of November because of SATA League. The club leases Courts Number 5-8. Larry and Mike will visit the Park District on Monday, September 8 for various maintenance items.	Info
5.	Men’s Coordinator Report: In Steve’s absence, Larry reported that we have a new men’s 3.5 team on Sunday mornings.	Info
6.	Women’s Coordinator Report: Marty reported that all Fall SATA teams are formed. There are 24 women on the Singles Ladder, and there was one challenge in August: Rena def. Claudette. Barbara, Joni, and Marty reported that they had a meeting regarding the Ladder rules, and Marty presented their recommendations along with three possible revisions for Rule 11. Please see Marty’s Newsletter article. Consensus was reached that we use No. 1 revision for Rule 11. .	Info
7.	Social Report: Joni said that September and October socials have been canceled. Steve and Carmen will conduct the November social, and Kathy Mumm will hold the Women’s Social in December. The next Social Committee meeting will be held September 8^th, Monday at the Raleys at Hazel and Madison Avenues at 7 p.m. They will discuss the January Love All Tennis Ball and begin to advertise the Ball in the Newsletter. New members will be announced in the Newsletter along with their ratings. Toni will mail rosters to the new members.	Info
8.	New business: Larry announced that the Doggie Run on Saturday, Sept. 6^th at Bella Vista track field will benefit the Bella Vista High School Tennis Courts. Larry suggested that we donate $200 for which our name will appear on the T-shirts that will be given to the participants. Joni made a motion that we give $200 to the Bella Vista Booster Club, Mike seconded it, and the motion carried.	Passed
10	Nominating Committee: We need a Chairperson for the 2009 Nominating Committee. Please contact Larry if you would like to volunteer.	Info
